Lake Norman Humane is comprised of staff and volunteers who are making a difference in the lives’ of animals one pet at a time. We are governed by a volunteer Executive Board of Directors who oversee the strategic plan, mission, and vision of our organization.
On November 1, 2016, Friends of the Animals-Iredell merged with the Humane Society of Iredell to form Lake Norman Humane. Our vision is to build a new facility to better serve the Lake Norman community and surrounding areas by rescuing and rehabilitating more animals and establishing a strong community education center and program.
Lake Norman Humane’s mission is to Rescue, Rehabilitate, and Rehome the pets in need withing our community and surrounding areas.
We pride ourselves on being a non-profit 501(c)3 animal welfare organization. Lake Norman Humane does not receive any funding or subsidy from the ASPCA, HSUS, or any other government organization. We rely soley on private donation made to our organization.
We work diligently with multiple animal control facilities and members of the community to pull and intake animals who would otherwise be euthanized. The majority of our animals have been surrendered for various reasons, including previous owners lifestyle changes and behavioral concerns. Prior to being placed for adoption, every animal we rescue is behavior tested, evaluated by a veterinarian and/or trainer, and receives any recommended care or training.
Our adoption process allows us to understand your wants and needs as potential owners and helps us to recommend pets best suited for your family’s lifestyle. We serve as a lifeline to our community for any questions or concerns that may arise following adoption to ensure our adopted pets remain in their forever homes.
Lake Norman Humane is located at 2106 Charlotte Hwy, Mooresville NC 28117. We operate from 10:00-4:00pm on Mon-Tues and Thur-Fri and every Wednesday from 12:00-6:00pm, and host weekend adoption fairs every 2nd, 4th Saturday from 10:00-2:00pm. Please see our Calendar for all of our upcoming events!
